Answer: 1. A sales tax number is also called a seller's permit or wholesale/retail/buyer's/state/ ID. It is used to buy wholesale and sell retail.

It is not different from a tax ID because it is a sales tax ID and there are 4 tax IDs such as a business tax ID, 2 employer tax IDs, and a sales tax ID.

According to the Georgia Department of Revenue, any entity that conducts business within Georgia may be required to register for one or more tax specific identification numbers, permits, and/or licenses.

A Georgia Sales and Use Tax Permit is required for any business selling or buying tangible goods in Georgia.

Any individual or entity meeting the definition of a “dealer” in O.C.G.A. § 48-8-2 is required to register for a sales and use tax number regardless of whether all sales will be online, out of state, wholesale, or exempt from tax.

Answer: Real estate locators, investors, agents and property managers or locators are best set up with an LLC and need a business license as well.

You can apply for an LLC and a business license here online on our site.

To become a property locator in real estate business, you need to be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.

You also need to complete 90 hours of approved real estate education. This education must include qualifying under one or more of the 6 alternative qualification experiences listed in WAC 308-124A-713.

You must also provide proof that you have at least 3 years of full-time experience as an active real estate broker.

Additionally, you need to have current fingerprint-based background results on file (due every 6 years).
